31st Nordic Symposium on Tourism and Hospitality Research ‑ Call for sessions

Dear colleagues,

The tourism research centre ETOUR at Mid Sweden University will host the 31st Nordic Symposium on Tourism & Hospitality Research on 19-21 Sep 2023. We are happy to now open the Call for Sessions contributions for the Nordic Symposium (https://www.miun.se/Forskning/forskningscentra/etour/nordicsymposium2023/)

We invite you to submit your proposal for a thematic session (oral presentations of abstracts) in relation to the overall conference theme: Rethinking Tourism for a Sustainable Future. With the theme of Rethinking Tourism for a Sustainable Future, we seek to address topics such as (but not exclusive):

• Incidents of sustainable world-creation through tourism where empowered communities, place prosperity and meaningful work is prominent
• Sustainable institutional arrangements where governance can be a source of creativity and social innovation for the maintenance of public goods, commons and welfare
• Tourism business, entrepreneurs and economic rethinking for a responsible, ethical and spiritual leadership
• Responsible tourist behaviour and transformative experiences with learning and behavioural change
• Critical ontology, epistemology & ethics in tourism science

Please note that as a session organizer you will be requested to act as a session chair and that the call for abstracts (opening 22 March 2023 - closing 21 April 2023) will also include accepted thematic sessions.

In addition to above outlined thematic sessions we also call for open format session proposals for topics presented and debated through workshops, panel discussions or round table sessions. Please, describe (approx. 1/2 page) the topic, aim, expected outcomes and implementation of your proposed open format session.

Please, submit your session proposal to Nordicsymposium2023@miun.se by 17 February 2023. We will open the EasyChair platform for abstract submissions in March-April. We kindly encourage you to forward this invitation of proposal for thematic session and open format session to your colleagues in your academic network.
